Blobby learns to analyze hand drawn notes (annotations, in app chat, notifications, and more)

Chris Swenson, Luke Bowerman · The Future Ai Dashboards Workbook I can't describe this properly just watch All I can say is you need to watch this one if you want to see the future. We have some of the basics with a new twist, like conversations and tagging for dashboards. But we also layer in hand-drawn annotation (think Microsoft paint) combined with the magic of Blobby. Circle an outlier and ask Blobby to go figure out why. Drill with a marker. Ask a question with a picture. This is a window into the future of analytics.

Python in Omni plus Blobby learns Python

Gustav Staprans, Jonathan Swenson, Dan Spangenberger, TJ Banghart · Ai Python Workbook The goal with Omni has always been more of everything. Python is more of something. Here we give a demo of some work on bringing data science to the app, and, of course, making sure Blobby can take advantage.

Model demotion

Conrad Slimmer · Modeling The monotonic model growth will be no more! Maybe the feature request we’ve talked about the most internally. Data models grow. Sometimes that is good, sometimes it was because you did a one-off thing you’re never going to look at again (or maybe even look at, but don’t need polluting everyone’s headspace). Conrad worked on bringing all that metadata to the data model, and ultimately allow users to push data model from the shared model back into their dashboards!!

Super serious[ly awesome] emoji AI feedback

Mariel Freyre · Ai Workbook Feedback (and the follow up tuning) is a core part of building the AI experience. This demo reimagines the AI feedback with emojis to quickly let your developers know what is working and what isn’t. And some fun baked in too.

Crossfiltering beta

Steven Talbot, Rob Miller · Dashboards Coming soon! We’ve been putting work into the cross-filter UX so you can slice and dice to hearts content with charts instead of filters. Testing internally, let us know if you want an early look.

Blobby learns to spreadsheet

Richard Czechowski · Ai Spreadsheet Step one was bringing a full dashboard into Omni. Step two is making it so AI can build those spreadsheets for you. Richard demos a few of those functions, including an instant invoice generation from a row of data, styling, or quick summary stats.

Blobby learns to build dashboards (plus the best loader you’ve ever seen)

Alisa Tatarinova · Ai Dashboards Blobby Bouncer Alisa shows off a quick tool to let Blobby bring content between environments (plus an awesome loader). Stay until the end to see Blobby building a new dashboard tile on the fly. More AI everywhere.

Omni full app inside MCP

Meredith Dodge, Joel Dodge · Ai Mcp The future Bit of a futuristic demo. Here we load the full app into the MCP experience, including backlinks to the core app.

Blobby learns to build a DB connection (AI get started)

Nate Agrin · Administration Ai AI everywhere is the goal. Blobby takes on adding a new database connection in Omni, meaning you can set up a connection and get querying inside a minute in the AI chat.

Connection setup clean up

Nate Agrin · Administration Bunch of fresh UX paint on the connection setup page. Better organization, more clear feedback, instant model, etc.

Blobby learns to debug your database connection

Cathy Lennon · Administration A little AI makes everything better. Here Blobby helps figure out why the DB connection didn’t go as plans, with little helpers and a Q&A to get you unblocked quickly.

Embed web components

Nate Agrin · Embed Adding a bit more delight to the developer experience for embed builders.

Omni CLI + Omni 1980 UI

Nate Agrin · Administration Modeling Bunch of work on the CLI, including a nice new (?) UX.

Release FYI / understand Omni versions (mostly internal)

Brian Frantz, Kyle Speer · Administration Internal We ship alot of code (34 demos this week). It makes debugging which app version is live tricky for us internally. Our friendly neighborhood devops team built a full UI + Slack experience to make sure we can debug quickly.

Dashboard auto pretty plus new layout controls (keyboard, multi element)

James Bueche · Dashboards First, we show off some new UX controls for dashboards - multi-element grabbing, keyboard controls, quick delete, etc. Then you see some new AI magic for instantly making a dashboard layout nicely. More to do here, but AI everywhere!

Omni employee directory (internal)

  • Sam Pittman · Internal*
Sam had some fun creating a new internal tool to find Omnis.

Blobby learns to surf the web

Jamie Davidson · Ai Blobby can soon enrich results with live web queries, for deeper, multi-modal use cases (all fake names, etc).

Long running task notifications

Trip Tate · Ux Scheduler Ai It’s not fun to sit and stare at your monitor for long-running tasks (think queries then render or long AI sessions). Soon you’ll be able to use notifications to return when the job is done.

letmeblobbythatforyou.com

Chris Merrick, Trey Shugart · Ai Fun We built a quick microsite for when you need to help a friend understand their data better.

Blobby suggests dashboards instead

Chris Merrick, Trey Shugart · Ai Dashboards Blobby has been a magical unlock for avoiding dashboard bloat. Just ask. But sometimes there was already a dashboard that answers your question perfectly. Soon Blobby can redirect you to those instead of reinventing the wheel.

AI Explo-to-Omni conversion tooling

Gary Lin, Andrew Chen · Ai Administration Conversion The former Explo team shows off a bunch of new tooling to bring dashboards and reports from Explo instantly into Omni, of course with lots of Clauding behind the scenes.

Blobby tasks (ie Blobby builds your slide deck)

Arielle Strong · Ai Slides Vibes Surely you’ve done an analysis that you had to present in slides. Soon Blobby can build your decks or docs for you. Arielle shows off a few use cases for the new AI Tasks.

Blobby learns ETL

Chris Merrick · Ai Etl If you’re anything like us, on the last day of the quarter you’re sitting on dashboards waiting for the new ETL to land. Soon Blobby will be able to reach into Fivetran for new data on command.

Automated documentation

Nancy Chacko, Erin Cochran · Docs Ai We ship alot of code. Sometime docs are the bottleneck for customers taking advantage (including screenshots). The team has been working on offloading some of that work to Claude to make sure our docs can keep up with our builders.

Table text formatting (pills and icons)

Sarah Waterson · Visualization Tables Workbook Dashboards We’re prettying up the data table with pills and icons (backed with conditional formatting of course), so your data pops. And, like everything else, can take advantage of modeled colors for consistent table presentations anywhere you use dimensions.

Markdown columns

Richard Czechowski · Tables Visualization Dashboards We’re bringing all the flexibility of markdown to the data table. Grab values across the row for quick ultra-flexible data styling.

AI columns any dialect

Richard Czechowski · Ai Workbook Calcs We already released AI functions in Snowflake, but soon you’ll be able to take advantage of classifiers and other quick row-actions in any dialect using our calc layer.

Blobby learns to Slack

Eli Cohen · Ai Slack The goal is buttons only when you want them. Here we quickly send a dashboard to Slack using Blobby.

Multi-step MCP Omni workflows (query, build dash, schedule)

Corey Ruderman · Ai Mcp The Future An end-to-end demo of Blobby writing query, building dashboard with said query, and even building up a schedule on the result. Running the whole app from the MCP chat box.

Blobby voice mode

Jared Hardy · Ai Voice We’re seeing more and more Blobby usage on mobile, so Jared built a way to take advantage of voice for AI data exploration.

Dark mode vis config defaults

Jared Hardy · Visualization Administration An early preview of enabling chart styles independently for dark mode.

Styling stub periods in charts

  • Mike Torosian · Visualization*
Is there anything worse than a time-series chart that tanks on the last data point because of a partial time period? Probably. But we fixed that anyways. Soon you can style your chart stubs to make sure your conclusions are that much more obvious.

Autohealing code tests

Kalen Petersen · Internal Engineering Productivity Our dev team got some new goodies too. Here we show off an end-to-end framework for Claude to understand and refine tests that let us ship safer, better, faster.

Release summarization AI

Jack Sweeney · Internal Docs Bit of new tooling to make sure the product team can see everything getting shipped and make sure you all know about it.
