# Delete a user attribute definition

> <Note>
  **Organization Admin** permissions are required to use this endpoint.
</Note>

Delete a custom [user attribute](/administration/users/attributes) definition. This permanently removes the value every user holds for the attribute.

Additionally, any references to the attribute will break upont deletion. This includes model SQL, dashboard or embed SSO URLs that pass it as a parameter, and connections that select an environment by its value will fall back to the default environment instead.
